Cape Spear

Cape Spear is the most easterly point in Canada. Newfoundlanders always call it “the most easterly point in North America” but they don’t seem to know that Greenland is usually considered part of North America.

It’s one of those “facts” that Newfoundlanders are fed from birth, and there’s no use in trying to dispute it with facts. Other Newfoundland “facts” are “John Cabot found Newfoundland” and “St. John’s is the oldest City in North America.” Both of those are false too, but don’t mention that to Newfoundlanders.

Maybe Newfoundlanders say that because Greenland is part of DenMark and detached from the continent of North America which of course Newfoundland is a well but please do not be so arrogant in your remarks. We would not be so if we visited your fair province.
